KING DAVID

KING DAVID is a modern musical oratorio with Book and Lyrics by Sir Tim Rice and Music by Alan Menken. It is based on Biblical tales from the Books of Samuel and 1 Chronicles, as well as text from David's Psalms.  Mostly sung-through with little dialogue, the KING DAVID score swings from pop to jazz to grand choral arrangements. The celebrity cast is supported by a large orchestra and large choir.

Originally conceived as an outdoor event to commemorate the 3,000th anniversary of the city of Jerusalem, it originally premiered to inaugurate the newly renovated, reopening of Disney’s New Amsterdam Theatre on Broadway.

This outdoor concert of the oratorio will be performed over 3 evenings at the 2000-seat Tuacahn Amphitheatre, set against the backdrop of the majestic mountains of Snow Canyon in Southern Utah. The concert will be filmed with multiple cameras for later broadcast streaming and will feature the support of a 45-piece Symphony Orchestra.  Television & Music Star, Marie Osmond, will be providing both spoken & sung narration, being joined by other cast members from the Broadway, Country, & Christian music markets.

The presentation of this newly rewritten KING DAVID at the historic Tuacahn Amphitheatre will mark the first time it is fulfilling its intended purpose in an epic outdoor setting.  It will also launch plans to play other venue performances worldwide.

ITM – IN THE MAKING

A New Multi-Media Broadway Musical

IN THE MAKING is a new Broadway musical about the making of a new Broadway musical. The story begins when a hot, young, extreme sports videographer is invited into the rehearsal room by an ambitious producer. The videographer has been enlisted to record the entire creative process. His videos are then simultaneously broadcast on the web.

The tumultuous journey begins at the press event right before the first day of rehearsal and ends after opening night. And, even though it seems like a place where no one in their right mind would want to stay, the power of live theatre embraces everyone who touches it and changes their lives completely. What that videographer records ain’t real. It's theatre. But some people out in cyberspace, and even in New York, believe that this is how it is done.
